Kwun Tong covers Kwun Tong, Lam Tin, Sau Mau Ping and Yau Tong in densely populated East Kowloon, with 78 kindergartens. Its hallmark is a high density of good free schools: 72 (92%) join the Free Scheme with no tuition, and non-profit community schools dominate (74 of them), including several rated A++ by Ming Pao — Lam Tin Ling Liang, HKCS Kwun Tong Nursery, Choi Ha Estate Grace and Salvation Army Ping Tin. Local private schools are almost absent, and only 5 run non-local/international curricula (Harrow Little Lions, Mills International, Telford English among them), with half-day fees of about $42,000 to $80,850 — among the lowest in Kowloon. The choice logic is clear: for high-quality local schooling at low cost, Kwun Tong offers plenty; but parents commonly note free schools are "academically light," so families targeting DSS/private primaries tutor outside.
Non-local = international / non-local curriculum. Dual-track schools appear under both tabs.
The best kindergarten is where your child thrives — not the one with the highest score.
