Through-train Schools
What is Through-train?
Through-train schools allow students to progress from primary to secondary without taking the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA).
⚠️
Note: There is NO official through-train system from kindergarten to primary. "Feeder kindergartens" refer to KGs affiliated with private/DSS primary schools, offering priority admission but not guaranteed placement.

FAQ
Q: Does attending a prestigious kindergarten guarantee admission to a top primary school?
A: No. For government and aided primary schools, kindergarten background does not affect allocation. Only for private/DSS schools with affiliated kindergartens does it provide an advantage.
Q: What is the difference between DSS and Private schools?
A: DSS schools receive government subsidy per student and must follow certain regulations. Private schools are fully self-financed with more autonomy in curriculum and fees.
Q: Can I switch from local to international track?
A: Yes, but earlier is easier. Switching in primary school is more manageable than in secondary. Consider curriculum differences and language requirements.
Q: How does Primary One Admission work?
A: It has two stages: Discretionary Places (35% of places, based on school preference and points) and Central Allocation (remaining places, based on school net and random number).
