Kindergarten Data Methodology and Sources
The directory currently contains 989 school records. This page explains what a record represents, where fields come from and how updates are handled.

Coverage and counting
The current count is 989 kindergarten records across 18 districts. A record normally represents a campus or programme entry in the working dataset, not necessarily a unique brand or sponsoring body. Local and non-local curriculum entries at one location may be separate when the source data treats them separately.
Primary sources
- Hong Kong Education Bureau school records and kindergarten profiles.
- Official school websites, prospectuses, notices and application pages.
- Published school-fee certificates or other official fee documents.
- Government policy pages and notices relevant to kindergarten education.
Collection and normalisation
Source fields are converted into a consistent bilingual structure for names, addresses, districts, programme type, Free Scheme status, PN availability, fees and other attributes. Stable record IDs are used to connect school pages with fee, admission, education-group and progression datasets. Automated validation checks required fields, formats, duplicates and selected cross-file relationships.
Dates and freshness
The latest school-record update date currently present in the dataset is 2026-08-21. Each school page can have its own record update date. Sitemap lastmod values use those record dates for school pages, article publish/update dates for articles, and the newest underlying data date for derived directory pages. Pages without a reliable content date omit lastmod instead of using the build date.
Missing and conflicting information
A blank value means the information was not available or could not be confirmed; it should not be read as zero or “not offered”. When reliable sources conflict, we prefer the more recent first-party or official record and may retain a source link for verification. Time-sensitive information should always be confirmed directly with the school.
