Tuen Mun — Choosing a School
Tuen Mun has 65 kindergartens, a large district in the western New Territories where 89% (58 schools) join the Free Scheme with no tuition — among the highest rates in Hong Kong — and local non-profits dominate (60 schools), serving working-family communities. The standout schools are almost all free Free-Scheme schools: parents agree that "for academics among Tuen Mun aided kindergartens, it's usually Leung Lee and Po Tin" — PLK Tin Ka Ping Siu Hong (Po Tin) is trilingual, with Cantonese, English (NET) and Mandarin teachers in each class, is called the district's most popular aided school and runs full; STFA Leung Lee Sau Yu (Leung Lee) has 5 NETs, pairing care with academics. Free-Scheme names also include TWGHs Ko Tak Kan and Kar Bo (Tuen Mun) at Ming Pao A++. The outlier is Harrow International Hong Kong, at $210,972 half-day — among the city's priciest — serving international-track families. With 4 non-local-curriculum schools, fees run from free all the way to $210,000, an extremely wide spread.
Non-local = international / non-local curriculum. Dual-track schools appear under both tabs.
The best kindergarten is where your child thrives — not the one with the highest score.
