About This District
Yuen Long has 77 kindergartens — the largest of these New Territories districts — spanning the Yuen Long town centre and Tin Shui Wai new towns, and a base for many cross-boundary pupils. 87% (67 schools) join the Free Scheme with no tuition, local non-profits dominate (68 schools), and only 9 are private. Among traditional aided schools, the parent-named "Yuen Long big three" — Chun Light, Life Church and Sam Yuk — are all free, long-established non-profits; St. Joseph's (S.K.H.) is among 4 rated Ming Pao A++. For an English or DSS route, private Gigamind Kindergarten emphasises activity-based learning, with parents citing good value and multiple primary offers this year; Anchors Academy Affiliated International has many NETs, a strong environment and a Mandarin focus, with parents reporting graduates have received offers from schools such as DGS (primary admission still rests with parents). District-wide, 8 schools run non-local curricula, with the likes of Tutor Time (YOHO) dotted around new-town malls; fees run from free to $63,600–$115,280 at international schools.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which kindergartens are good in Yuen Long?
For traditional free schools, the "Yuen Long big three" include CCC Yuen Long Church Chan Kwong (Ming Pao A+); for private English, Gigamind (good value); for international curricula, Anchors Academy Affiliated International (many NETs, Mandarin focus) and Tutor Time (YOHO); for free A++, S.K.H. St. Joseph's. See our Yuen Long rankings.
Which are Yuen Long's established, well-regarded kindergartens?
The parent-named "Yuen Long big three" are the starting point — CCC Yuen Long Church Chun Light, Yuen Long Lutheran Life Church, and Sam Yuk — all free, long-established non-profits (Chun Light and Sam Yuk rated Ming Pao A+). Four others are rated A++: St. Joseph's (S.K.H.), TWGHs Wong Chu Wai Fun, Salvation Army Kam Tin and HKCS Tin Heng. These traditional aided schools mainly follow a local primary route with no tuition — Yuen Long's steadiest choices.
Are there English or international kindergartens in Yuen Long?
Yes. For an English environment on a local/DSS route, private Gigamind Kindergarten emphasises activity-based learning and an English setting — parents cite good value and decent allocation/admission results this year (while cautioning that "whichever you pick, you'll need outside tutoring"). For an international curriculum, Anchors Academy Affiliated International has many NETs, a strong environment and a Mandarin focus, with parents reporting graduates have received offers from schools such as DGS (primary admission still rests with parents). Others include Tutor Time (YOHO), York, EIS and Joyful World, dotted around new-town malls, at roughly $63,600 to $115,280 half-day.
How widely do fees vary in Yuen Long?
From free to about $115,000. 67 schools (87%) join the Free Scheme with no half-day tuition; local private half-day runs about $74,400; international/non-local half-day ranges from $63,600 to $115,280, topped by Tutor Time (YOHO). The vast majority of families attend free aided schools, while international schools cluster in the Yuen Long town centre and Tin Shui Wai malls — Free-Scheme participation is the biggest divide.
How many kindergartens are in Yuen Long?
Yuen Long has 77 kindergartens — the largest of these New Territories districts: 67 (87%) join the Free Scheme, 33 offer PN (nursery, age 2) classes, and 8 run non-local curricula. Spanning the Yuen Long town centre and Tin Shui Wai new towns, and a base for many cross-boundary pupils, it is led by free non-profit aided schools.
