📚 Curriculum
The school emphasizes trilingual education (Cantonese, Mandarin, and English) by employing English conversation teachers and Mandarin teachers. By examining the characteristics of young children, the school organizes practical and engaging learning content, adopting sensory exploration and play-based strategies. This is complemented by professional development and collaborative activities for teachers, as well as engaging parents and utilizing community resources. The school also systematically collects and evaluates the learning performance of children and the effectiveness of the curriculum. We will follow the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
🎯 Teaching Approach
Through a child-centered curriculum that employs game-based strategies and thematic teaching, we encourage young children to explore learning through their five senses, fostering their active inquiry and problem-solving abilities. The school also places emphasis on promoting positive character traits in young children and actively implements moral and civic education programs to help them develop positive values, attitudes and cultivate a culture of caring and inclusivity. The school selects learning themes based on the interests, developmental stages, abilities, and existing knowledge of the children, drawing from their familiar life experiences or events related to their daily lives, such as school, family, friends and relatives, food, transportation, community, seasons, and festivals. This integrated approach promotes the balanced development of children in the five domains of ethics, intellect, physique, social skills, and aesthetics. Free exploration is an essential element of play and a catalyst for effective learning, as it helps maintain and strengthen children's focus and learning interest. The school provides opportunities for children to engage in free play, catering to their natural inclination towards play. The school's teaching resources are diverse, including books, teaching kits, multimedia learning materials, and teaching materials produced by the government or other organizations. The community where the children live also provides learning spaces and rich learning content, helping them understand society.
